In the 2023 grant competition to promote scientific-research projects in the field of Caucasia, LEPL Ajara Museum and Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University submitted an international (USA, France, Lithuania, Ukraine, Armenia) project.

 According to the decision of the competition commission, the submitted project was highly rated and declared the winner.

As a result of the implementation of the project will be determined, the mobility in the Western Transcaucasia of Homo Sapiens about 11000 years ago  and the way of obsidian transportation

 The head of the project is archaeologist Guram Chkhatarashvili, scientist-collaborator of Batumi Archaeological Museum.
